This paper studies correlation between educational attainment and concealment of sexual orientation for homosexual men by formulating a simple theoretical model of schooling and coming out. The model predicts a greater educational attainment for homosexual men if discrimination differs based on the educational attainment and revelation of sexual orientation. The empirical test of the model predictions using the Add Health and the ACS shows evidence supporting the model.
