The March 2017 demise of the American Health Care Act led to a flurry of commentary -- much of it from conservatives -- about the lack of interest in health policy details among Republican legislators and about the apparent Republican health policy wonk deficit. This roundtable will consider whether liberal and conservative approaches to health policy differ in methods and approaches as well as substance, assess whether there is a wonk deficit, and discuss whether that deficit matters.
