Thursday, November 7, 2019: 12:00 PM-1:30 PM
Plaza Building: Concourse Level, Plaza Ballroom D & E (Sheraton Denver Downtown)
Speakers:  Carolyn Heinrich, Vanderbilt University, Jason DeParle, The New York Times, Hamutal Bernstein, Urban Institute and Neeraj Kaushal, Columbia University

Jason DeParle of The New York Times spent 32 years following a single family as migration lifted took them from a shantytown in Manila to a middle-class American life. His new book ``A Good Provider is One Who Leaves’’ provides an intimate look at their experiences and a wide-angled analysis of migration’s effects on sending and receiving countries. DeParle and a panel of researchers including Moderator Carolyn Heinrich (Vanderbilt University), Hamutal Bernstein (Urban Institute) and Neeraj Kaushal (Columbia University) will discuss the consequences of migration for families and society and the role of research and journalism in shaping policy discussions.

This is a ticketed event and pre-conference sales are now closed (as of 10/30/19). A limited quantity of tickets will be available for sale at the conference for $38 a person - check preferred, cash and credit cards accepted.
