Health reform policy debates seem to be driven by buzz words and talking points, disguising the actual ways in which the options differ and relate to one another. What are the core differences between so-called “market-based” approaches and those expanding or enhancing existing government programs? How does a public option relate to single payer/Medicare-for-All options? What are the central design decisions that need to be made for any of them, and what are their implications for coverage and costs? This session brings together analysts with a diversity of perspectives and expertise to cut through the noise and highlight the tradeoffs of the policy options being advocated for in the public sphere.
